The 3209 is meant for excavators in the 1.5 to 5 tonne class. The 4409 fits small to medium excavators and carries a two-way as well as a four-way blade: the two-way blade splits the large trunk, the four-way blade cuts the parts down further. The quick change pin swaps blades within a minute.
