Anyone looking for a 7 tonne splitter is often after a compact, affordable way to split wood themselves. That makes sense, certainly if you want to split a few trunks now and then for your own use.

Even so, it is worth knowing that 7 tonnes of splitting force is in many cases not enough, certainly not with heavier wood, larger logs or jobs where you want to work efficiently. That is why we sell splitters with a splitting force from 18 tonnes upwards.

Why 7 tonnes is often not enough

  • A log splitter with 7 tonnes of force can suit light work, such as softwood or small logs. But as soon as you are dealing with hardwood, knots or fresh wood, such a machine quickly reaches its limit. That means more effort, longer processing times and a higher risk of damage or jams.
  • At Split-Fire we therefore deliberately choose more power. Even our lightest models, such as the popular 2265, deliver 18 tonnes of splitting force at 2900 psi as standard. That way you can be sure you always have enough power to split efficiently, safely and effortlessly.
